About Hearty Hill Farm

How it started:

Joe and Yi started their relationship as great friends in college in 2014. Joe pursued vegetable farming and Yi a career in marketing. With their future family in mind, they decided in June of 2019 that they would make it their mission to combine their skills and start a vegetable farm.

In 2021, they found the hill in Waymart, PA, where they would make it happen.

The land:

Before Joe and Yi, the beautiful land on which Hearty Hill Farm sits was a decades-old hay field and long before that, a field for dairy cows to graze in.

After three years of soil and infrastructure building, it is now a fully functioning 2.25-acre organic vegetable farm.

The farm:

Hearty Hill Farm is built on the foundation of sustainable farming practices and fueled by a mission to bring delicious and healthy vegetables, herbs, and flowers to the greater Pocono area and beyond.

2024 will be the farm’s first full season of growing and selling produce!

The vision:

At the center of Hearty Hill Farm lies Joe and Yi’s love of good and simple food. They believe nothing can stop a hearty meal and a hearty smile from bringing people together; growing great vegetables is their way to share this great joy of life with others.

In addition to connecting their community to great produce, they enjoy exchanging information and stories about all-things food like cooking, baking, growing, farming, eating, dumpling making, canning, fermenting, brewing, preserving, hunting, fishing, foraging, and more.
